Harefield, Middlesex
These 14 new-build properties were fitted with solar PV systems integrated into the fabric of the roof. The PV roof tiles were from Redland and comprise a PV tile with a flashing system that enables integration with almost any tile or slate roof. The systems were supplied and fitted by Sundog Energy.
New Progress Housing Association, Leyland
Sundog Energy provided roof integrated Redland PV tile systems to 22 properties. These were installed during the re-roofing phase of a major renovation scheme being implemented by New Progress Housing Association. Technology: Redland PV800 PV tiles. System size: 24.6kWp.
Leicester Six Streets Project
Sundog Energy provided roof integrated Redland PV tile systems to 50 properties. These were installed as part of a major regeneration scheme on the Braunstone Estate, being implemented by Leicester Housing Association. Technology: Redland PV800 PV tiles. System size: 52.5kWp.
Sustainable Housing Development
These three and four bedroom houses are highly insulated “zero heat”, timber frame properties and feature PV roof systems. The PV arrays, installed by Sundog Energy to the south facing roofs, utilised fully roof integrated PV roof tiles.
Housing Association Properties, Loughborough
Created from a derelict industrial unit, this housing project featured solar PV systems on 13 properties with a total output of 15.6kWp. The PV tile installation, for Nottingham Community Housing Association, was completed in 2005.
Show home, Story Homes, Dumfries
This 1kWp solar array is integrated into the roof fabric - to showcase the option of choosing solar PV on the Story Homes development on the outskirts of Dumfries. The array was laid at the same time as the roof and works were designed to cause no delays to the build programme.
Baytree Estate, Manchester
Working with Manchester City Council, Sundog Energy provided PV systems to 60 private houses on the Baytree estate in Manchester in 2007. The systems were installed as part of a major refurbishment project which included general reroofing works. The 60kWp project utilised PV800 PV roof tiles from Redland.
Newcastle Great Park
A 14kWp solar PV scheme installed on 10 new-build houses for Bryant Homes and Persimmon Homes by Sundog Energy in 2002. The fully integrated roof systems were formed using the Redland SRT40 PV roof tile system.
