Legal actions, Government announcements and FIT uncertainty

FITs and Starts

FIT rates were not originally scheduled to be changed before 1st April 2012, yet at the end of October, in launching a consultation on the FIT scheme, the Government announced significant cuts to the FIT rates to come into effect on the 12th December 2011.  This date was before the December 23rd closing date of the consultation period.

Sundog Energy’s forward-thinking Managing Director Bill Roberts’s all-electric company car is now using the free power of the sun, generated direct from the company’s new state-of-the-art 14kWp roof top solar PV installation, it was announced today. And, having just clocked 10,000 miles in less than 6 months, Bill’s Nissan LEAF appears on the Nissan telemetrics website as one of the world’s highest mileage electric vehicles.

Sundog Energy pioneers innovative new solar PV mounting system in Cumbria, UK

Cumbria’s largest commercial solar PV system at Lakeland Livestock Mart, Cockermouth, first in Europe to benefit from new, cutting-edge ‘Trinamount’ technology

Cumbria-based Sundog Energy’s latest commercial installation at Mitchell’s Lakeland Livestock Mart, Cockermouth, is the first solar PV installation in Europe to benefit from an innovative new mounting system called Trinamount, it was announced today. The new system, from leading global solar panel manufacturer Trina Solar, has been designed to significantly speed up the installation time of Trina’s solar PV panels by reducing the number of parts and eliminating the need for traditional mounting rails.
